INTRODUCTION

Essential Oil is the true essence of a single plant and is usually extracted by steam distillation. Each plant yields its own unique essential oil - whether herbs, spices, resins, leaves of flowers. Essential oils have long being used for their healing properties as well as for their fragrant aromas. They may be used on many levels : physical, emotional, mental and spiritual and are ideal when used in combination with other therapies or simply on their own.

Swarup Arochem essential oils are sourced from around the world. They are all supreme quality, pure unadulterated, nothing added, nothing taken away, derived from named botanical species and bought according to chemotype.

AROMATHERAPY METHODS

Bath :

Simply add 5 or less drops of essential oil in your bath base. Soak for up to 20 minutes allowing the oil to penetrate the skin while enjoying the luxurious vapors. Choose oil to suit your mood : Rosemary to get you going in the mornings. Ylang Ylang and Lavender to relax you in the evenings.

Massage :

Add 5 drops or less essential oil to every 10 ml of massage base oil or moisturizing lotion. Choose any oil to suit your condition or mood : Chamomile and Lavender after depilation. Ylang Ylang and Sandalwood for a sensuous massage.

Perfume :

Essential oils have always used as perfumes - either singularly or in blends. They can be used simply for pleasure or to reinforce the effect of other aromatherapy applications. Use 5 drops or less 10 ml of base.

Vaporization :

Use 1 ml in an Aroma Stone which doesn't need water. Use various oils depending on your needs. Try Cinnamon, Rosemary, Marojoram, Tea Tree, Cajaput or Eucalyptus to kill airborne bacteria. Lemongrass to clear smoke and create a pleasant atmosphere. Grape - fruit is great for a refreshing uplift. Rosemary on long car journeys to stay alert.

Hair :

Essential oils are excellent beauty aids which help to condition the scalp which in turn produces healthy hair. For very dry and damaged hair try Ylang Ylang and Sandalwood.

  • add 3 drops or less of oil to 10 ml warm base massage oil;

  • massage into scalp;

  • wrap in warm towel for 20 minutes;

  • shampoo out.

Alternatively, try adding your chosen oil to any conditioning shampoo. For greasy hair try Chanmomile. As a tonic use Rosemary.

Skin and Face Care :

(Mixing ratio : up to 3 drops to every 10 ml base product) Essential oils are excellent beauty aids. They encourage the sebaceous glands (the glands just under the skin) to function more efficiently. This improves the general health of the skin. Use with Aloe Vera Gel and Luxury Moisturizer, to create your own individual preparations. Either mix enough to last a few weeks or few days, but remember, the properties in essential oils are at their best when fresh. The oils can be used singularly or in combinations. Simply choose the oils to suit your skin type.

Babies and Children :

Essential oils can be very beneficial to babies and children as long as they are used with care. Always dilute the essential oil in a base before applying to the skin or adding to the bath. For babies use only one drop of oil to 10 ml of base : for children use half the amount an adult would use.  Try Lavender at night to encourage sleep.

The examples given should only be used as a guide. We like our customers to encourage to experiment. The oils are flexible and can be used in endless combinations. They are all for you to enjoy.
